sculpting in time

Where is MODERNGRUMBLE at? I'm getting this question a lot lately. Where are we in terms of production? Where are we in terms of casting? First off, the intention of this website was to slowly build a following for MODERNGRUMBLE, graphic novel first, film second. I meant for this to develop over the next year while we took our time testing film, effects, etc. letting the graphic novel find it's audience and secure us a little more operating fundage and that may still be how it works out. However there's a strong possibility that this is not how it's going to go down at all which is great in many ways and terrifying in others. We're ready to roll, I could start filming tomorrow but with others awareness and involvement comes a lot of concern over money. How much do we need? How are we going to get it? I designed MODERNGRUMBLE so that I could shoot it for nothing on my neighbor's camcorder if necessary and still have a strong film. Money would only speed up the process essentially making a several year project achievable in several months and of course provide actors and crew with food :). That doesn't mean we're not seeking investors and patrons for our cause!

We're working up a detailed budget, business plan and shooting schedule for potential investors and thinking about using some of the indie fundraising sites out there instead of going the route of door to door hustling. If anyone has any expereince or advice about these sites or alternative fundraising in general please let us know. Any and all knowledge from those of you who have passed through the fire would be much appreciated.

So for those of you keeping track, this is where MODERNGRUMBLE is at;

1) Finishing the Graphic Novel and publishing via an indie press. Proceeds going to   Lotushead Productions for the film.

2) Selling Stickers, T-Shirts and Pre-Orders of the Graphic Novel on this website.

3) Looking into Indie Fundraising Websites like IndieGoGo and Indie Maverick.

4) Looking for DP's, Makeup Artists and various crew members in our community who are interested in lending their skills to us for credit for fee and/or possible points on the back end.

Barring any miracle investors, Lotushead Productions will continue as planned, at a leaisurely pace, with makeup and effects testing beginning around the first of the year as well as location scouting and costume/prop acquisition. These developments are definite so those of you who are or know someone in these disciplines and live in the Northwest Arkansas area should get in touch!

Thanks to everyone who is supporting us! It's amazing how supportive and incestuous the horror community is!

Well I do know of a guy in NWa with some experience in the film industry. He's living in siloam springs and this project may be something up his alley actually. If you need more info let me know and I can hook you up with his myspace...it may take awhile for him to get back to you on that but it might be a good contact.
