new blood

Posted February 18, 2010

So after a few months in the wilderness, MODERNGRUMBLE is about to kick back into life with a whole slew of developments. To those of you out there who have been kind enough to show interest in our little project I apologize for the bout of silence.

Lotushead Productions has just invested significantly in gallons of latex, plaster and various other monster making materials! Sculpting on major character designs should begin within the week with photos documenting the entire process through casting and application as we do initial make up/effects tests.

In the coming months of March and April we will also be interviewing and nailing down our choices for DP as well as looking for volunteers to fulfill various labor and logistics positions during the shoot. At the time that these decisions are made I will be putting up photos and bios of our crew!

We should also be seeing the rest of the graphic novel coming to completion very soon. Those of you that have contributed to our cause by pre-ordering copies or donating are not only  providing an invalubale service to us here at Lotushead Productions but showing your support for indie horror and comics as well! Thank you!

All of this is in service of getting the first ten minutes of MODERNGRUMBLE the film shot, edited and shown on this website as a teaser trailer for the coming film by the first weekend of May! Why May? Cause we're attending  The Texas Frightmare Weekend ( www.texasfrightmareweekend.com )in Dallas and really want something to show off!  So help us out, tell a friend about the site, link to us in your blog, send us money or just volunteer your time as a production assistnant/extra. We will feed you!

In a not completely unrelated note, check out my other blog at www.moderngrumble.blogspot.com, my film blog concerning subtextual film readings on everything from Sexuality in Spike Lee films to the Female Slasher in European Cinema. I just posted the first essay tonight but more is forthcoming. Enjoy.
