So in the slow, slow, slow build up to the MODERNGRUMBLE teaser shoot, Lotushead Productions has decided to diversify a bit and do a little producing. What do ya know a Production Company producing a film! I know it's crazy but I couldn't just stand by and let the good folks at Subvex have all the fun. The amazing list of talent involved was just too much to resist. Starting with avant garde legend Jonas Mekas, the visual poet behind the phenomenal As I Was Moving Ahead Occasionally I Saw Brief Glimpses of Beauty as well as work with Dali, Warhol, John and Yoko, The Velvet Underground and countless others.
Also participating are Bill Morrison of Decasia infamy, perhaps the best American narrative filmmaker working today, Nina Menkes, rising Filipino star Lav Diaz, France's enfant terribles Alex and Niko (Watch Born From Pain now!) and a nice cross section of experimental filmmakers from Los Angeles, London, Paris, Scotland, Russia and more. This is a truly international production with a diverse group of talent and the resulting film, a game of exquisite corpse is the first official co-production from Lotushead Productions.
So follow the links, check out Kickstarter and then as KRS-One is fond of saying, BE A PRODUCER! And remember this is a 100% non profit production. All funds will be used for the costs incurred in shipping equipment to the various countries involved and developing the film. After the film is complete we will have the world premier in NYC and thereafter the content of the film will be made available for anyone to remix online through a Creative Commons license. This a truly radical paradigm instigated by and for lovers of art in cinema,
